July's Colour of the Month Reveal

Hello Everyone
Where do the days go, I seem to start the month of ok then it just flies past and it's the end of the month before I know it.
So today I can share with you the entries we have received + some of our amazing design teams projects. Every project features the lovely warm colour Orange.

First up is our lovely design team member Karyn Shultz.
Karen has taken the time to do a step by step tutorial for her lovely page and we thank her for the time it must have taken.
Here is what Karyn has to say about her stunning page.

This month I decided to make all my projects in keeping with this colour theme. Todays project is a scrapbook page - made with my usual white background, paint and lots of "Orange" embellishments!!
I started with a sheet of white cardstock and swiped DWM paint (Tangerine, Sedona, Black) across in places.

I coloured my chipboard using Distress oxides (they have such great coverage - even over chipboard) and the title I coloured using a black paint pen then a coat of glossy accents.
Here are some close-ups. I've also added some flowers, German scraps embellishments and ribbon.
Glossy accents adds great shine to chipboard when I'm too lazy to get my embossing powders out (haha).
Once my page is finished I always add some splatters of coordinating paint using Prima Watercolor Confections.
These stickers are from 7 Dots Studio - Paint Chips collection.

Crafty Hugs xx
Karyn
Thanks so much for sharing your layout with us.

Sandi Spink has also created a stunning layout featuring the colour orange.

Sandi takes amazing photos and has used one on her layout.
Here is what she has to say about her layout.
I love photography and experimenting with different tools and this photo of a Lake Bonney sunset was taken through a glass ball.

The chippie I chose to use were the letters from IDALC0001, and a number 2 (ideal for Cards)

I also used some Twigs IDD0013, and painted them along with the words/number with Dina Wakley Umber paint. I sprinkled Lindy's magicals onto white cardstock and sprayed it with water and when dry it. I used an assorted background stamps to add to the background. The photo was placed on a stack of torn paper to finish off the page.
Sandi has done a lovely layout and doesn't the orange really pop on her page.
Thank you Sandi for sharing this with us.

We also have another layout to share with you from Sonia Thomason.

Sonia has chosen two beautiful photos for her layout. Doesn't the brown and orange work well together.
Here is what Sonia has to say about her layout.
I absolutely love orange and brown together - I think it's from my love of all things vintage and this colour combination always looks so gorgeous and rustic!

I used one of the beautiful new flourishes available and heat embossed it with Vintage Photo Distressed Embossing powder. I then cut it in half and placed one half in each of the two floral clusters.

I used the same embossing powder on the “so happy for you” Title (IDP0233) The Love. Love, Love down the bottom of the page is actually the border of one of the new love hearts.

I used one that had part of the heart under a photo and I didn’t want to waste any of it as I trimmed it off, straightened it out and heat embossed it to use on this layout!!! Finally the heart form Nat's love hearts Idd0042 has been heat embossed in an aged gold and placed in the bottom right corner of my layout.
Thanks so much Sonia for sharing your wonderful layout with us. So Happy for You' title (IDP0233). The Love, Love, Love down the bottom of the page is actually the border of one of the new Love Hearts. I used one that had part of the heart under a photo and I didn't want to waste any of it so I trimmed it off, straightened it out and heat embossed it to use on this layout!! Finally the Heart from Nat's Love Hearts (IDD0042) has been heat embossed in an aged gold

So we received some lovely bright layouts from you.
First up is Julie Cox.

Julie used a beautiful summer photo for her layout and chosen one of our lovely titles to give her layout special meaning.
Here is what she has to say about her layout.
For this orange layout I chose Graphic 45 and Simple Stories papers. A lesson was learnt about not taking shortcuts. Without a quick coat of white gesso  under the blue Distress Ink, the chip boards have come out darker than expected.
A few touches of Wink of Stella in the centre of the flowers helps to lift them - aided by some shaping and foam pieces to give height in places. I also lifted the top layer of photo and matt with foam tape to add dimension.
Stacey was a star that day, participating in the local Special Olympics. The title reflects our messages to her - you CAN, just Believe in Yourself.
I’ll be adding personal journaling to the Ranger tags.
Julie - your page is really beautiful and Stacey's photo is just perfect. What a star she is.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

Next up is Karen Evans

Karen has chosen to use some wonderful vintage family photos. I love what way she has put everything together. Our "Summer Paradise" chipboard  is the perfect title for this layout.

We also received this lovely layout from Pat Evans. Pat has chosen to use our "Bright eyed and bushy tailed" chipboard title which goes perfectly for her three lovely photos.  The colours in her layout really match the colour of her dogs coat. Well done Pat and thanks for sharing this layout with us.
Penny Powell also send us two projects.
Her first project is a layout and the two photos she has used really tell the story so well. Our chipboard title "First Glimpse" is the perfect finishing touch.  Penny also used one of our lattice chipboards tucking it under her photo,  and along with her title she use Novo embossing glitter powder to cover them both.
Her second project is a book cover.

Hi Jane also decided to do some thing different, made this notebook for one of the teachers at school. I used a heap of chipboard including a monarch butterfly, lattice door, a Just for you phrase, corners, and flowers.  I used orange gilding polish and silver inka gold to colour everything.
Wow it really come up well Penny - thank you for sharing it with us.
Thanks to you all for your projects, I will be sending you all a bundle of our chipboard to play with.
Sorry for the delay some of you have had in receiving your chipboard bundles. I will work harder to get them to you asp.
I will be back tomorrow with our August Colour of the Month Reveal. I can't wait to share what the design team girls have been up to.
thanks for looking and see you tomorrow.
