Moodboard Motivations

This month the design team are working with this deep, rich moodboard
( source: Pinterest)

Kelly-ann Oosterbeek is kicking off this post with a layout inspired by all the vintage colours and fob watches found on this moodboard.

Kelly-ann says:
I loved this mood board for inspiration ... in my head Browns/blacks/clocks = vintage.
I've used a pretty basic background paper for this layout but touched it up with ink and watercolour paints. I also used watercolour paints on all the chipboards and those tufts of grass you can see at the base.

Using watercolour paint can create a beautiful patchy look that mimics age ... here I've painted with brown but used watered down white over that to give a chalky look to the finish.

Water colour paint also has the added bonus of soaking into the chipboard very effectively saving you from having to painstakingly cut in around the edges.

Thanks Kel.

Next we have Sandi Spink with an inspired layout on black.

Sandi says:
I was inspired by a workshop I attended last year held by our wonderful Louise Nelson, the background is a rolled section of white gesso and used a spatula to scrap lines into it whilst wet. I used an antique gold paint to coat the chipboard 'Dress' and Distress Oxide Ranger ink on the 'Now' arrow. The clock/cog piece was covered in Silver Versa ink and then embossed with Tinby Melallic Melts 'Paline'.

Thanks Sandi.

The talented Louise Nelson herself is next...

For the November theme Louise thought outside the box completely!

Louise has created 3 pairs of fun and funky earrings using her own designs.

Whilst they wont last forever they will certainly be fun to wear whilst they do.

Louise was inspired by the mood board to use 2 of the colours; black and silver.

FANTASTIC projects girls, thanks for the inspiration.

Colour Explosion by Leonie Neal-Dawson

Hiya everyone.  Leonie here today.
By now hopefully you've seen or heard
about our June challenge with this fabulous moodboard.  I absolutely adore the bright beautiful colours on this mood board.  They are such happy colours.

When I set about creating my page for this challenge I had some Dina Wakley paint left over and so I made some extra backgrounds and then thought well I may as well use these for my monthly blog post.
This is what I came up with, bit of a colour explosion - plus one other which you'll see late in the month.

*****

 'Reflections'
For this first page I used Nat's squares chipboard as a stencil to create the pattern on my background. Then I added the actual chipboard under my photo and overlayed it with my 'Reflections' title which I'd sprayed with white Gesso.  Keeping it simple I scattered some chipboard stars around the page which have been painted white and then sprayed with KaiserMists.

'Cheeky Grin'

My second page started out with lots of random stencilling on the background.  The title pieces have been painted with the same colours as the background and the bubbles were painted first then I glued some chunky glitter on them.

'Now And Forever'

Lastly I have this multi photo page, each photo has been matted on several layers of B&W patterned papers.  The title piece is painted black as have the flourishes.  The flourishes also have some texture paste dabbed on them.

Thanks for stopping by the Imaginarium Designs Blog I hope you're inspired to take part in our challenge this month.  All the details on how to enter are HERE

Cheers
