Altered Art Projects from our Design Team

Today I am sharing some Altered Art Projects for you. These are pieces that will hang on a wall or stand on an easle. I love this style of scrapbooking and the three pieces I have to share today are just beautiful. Each one is different from the other ones, but each one is very special.
First up is one from Adriana. She has called hers Home Sweet Home.

Here is what Adriana had to say about her project

" When I received this “Emma Frame” IDTFR0012, it reminded of my days when I did quilting and stitching. With the small rectangles and squares with the gorgeous flourish on top and inside the frames. I decided to make a mini quilt hanging piece, and have called this project,  “Home Sweet Home”.

First I painted the Emma frame with brown paint, then embossed ink all over the frame, sprinkled Vintage photo distress embossing powder by Tim Holtz. Heated the frame with my heating gun. The finished effect is like a soft suede mat look with a vintage distress look.

Then I cut a piece of chipboard slightly bigger than the frame covered with it paper, inked the edges then added lace & ribbon on bottom.  I then cut out pieces of paper, placed on the underside on each opening. Inked the Letters, flourishes and tinies. Arranged embellishments. Attached clips to hold the frame on top, tied with beautiful seam binding. Then attached the finished frame on to the covered chipboard square.

How special is this wall art piece, Adriana makes it all sound so simple. I love all the bits and pieces whe has added to her frame.

Next up is Karen
Again she has created a wall hanger and in true Karen style it is full of detail with lots of little bits and pieces. You could spend a hour looking at this and still see more and more.

Karen has used Tim Holtz configurations boxes to make this piece of art.

This photo shows the inking and stamping Karen has added to the chipboard flourish.

So many little bits and piece to take in, here it is the pearls she has used to great effect.

Karen has used BoBunny papers, and cut and punched lots of butterflies. Karen has inked her chipboard then stamped over the top for a beautiful effect.

Each little compartment is a complete work of art.  You can tell this project has taken quite a lot of time. So much attention to detail and beautifully done. Karen is quite the master at this form of scrapbooking.

Three lovely Layouts to share

Hello Everyone,
Boy have we all be busy, so sorry for not posting for a few days,  now I need to catch up. Today I am sharing some layouts from the design team featuring masking and our chipboard.  The Girls are so talented and come up with the most amazing ways to use our chipboard.
First up is Hilde. She has called her layout "Fun Day" and the photo certinly shows two lovely little ladiest having a fun day together.

Hilde has used one of our chipboards as a mask. She used our clock without hands and a kerri flourish as a mask. She used Tattered Angles Glimmermist to spray the chipboard and the page.

IDALC0001 Lower case Letters

IDFL0010 Kerri Flourish (Large)

Hilde does lovely layouts and this one is so pretty. I always love seeing what she comes up with.
Materials Used
Paper are from My Minds Eye.
Flowers - Webster's Pages and Marianne Design.
Tattered Angels Glimmermist.

Next up is a layout from Heather. She has also used a mask on her layout from Crafters Workshop.

Heather used the large flowers only from our Flowers & Birds. She twisted green woollen thread around the stems to bind them together. The stems are left raw and the flowers are inked with "brick" Versa colour ink. For her title she used some of our Alpha's which Heather inked with the Versa colour ink pad and applyed Utee over the top to create the shiny finish.

I love Heathers work and have been a fan for quite a few years now, in fact a Heather project was the first class I did at my local scrapbooking store about 7 years ago. (it is still not finished!)
other items used
Kraft paper
Papermania Docraft portabella paper
Prima --  Printery Collection
Versa Color --- brick
crafters workshop mask .. chicken wire
tags .. Bumble bee tags
green embroidery wool

To finish of today's post I have a layout from Lady Grace. She has called it Beautiful and it certainly is just that.

Here is what Lady Grace had to say about her layout.
"For this layout, I have used Clock face without hands as my base matting of my daughter’s photo. I used the large clock to draw the eyes of the viewer to the photo, making that part the focal point of my design.

"The clock was initially painted with white gesso. Once it dried, I applied thick coating of crackle paint to achieve the cracks I wanted. I immediately misted a few greens and yellow on it while it was still wet to add colour. I also allowed some part of the coating to fall out to get the look that I wanted".
Products Used:  Kaisercraft patterned papers, flower and embellishments, Webster Pages diecut paper,  Bazzill Cardstock, Gesso acrylic paint, Hero Arts and Ideaology stamps,  Shimmerz Mist,  Ranger Crackle Paint, Prima flowers and bling flourish.

I love the way Lady Grace has layered all the pieces on her layout and the clever way she has decorated her chipboard.  To see more of Lady Grace's work visit her blog
Hope you enjoy todays three layouts, they are quite different but all are so pretty and cleverly done with lots of ideas. Don't forget to leave a comment and go into the draw to win some chipboard.
thanks for looking

Sweet and Pretty from Hilde and Larissa .....

Today I have a couple of gorgeous projects to show you from Hilde and Larissa.

These are such sweet girly pages from Hilde.
She has used some gorgeous Kaiser papers which highlight her sweet daughter just
perfectly - see the image on her T-Shirt .... a perfect match!

Hilde has used the Imaginarium title Special Memories for this and given it a lightcoat of ink and paint before highlighting with Dimensional Pearls to create those super cute little dots! The vine has also been painted and dotted with Dimensional Pearls as well.

This next page is just the cutest!
Again, Hilde is using Kaiser papers for this page of her little girl.
The Imaginarium flourish is my absolute favourite and Hilde has inked it in green and cut it in half to frame her photo perfectly. She has added highlights to the flourish using gems and diamentes. The title is lightly misted just to give it a little shimmer.

"Sugar and Spice and all thing nice that's what little girls are made off"

Today I want to share some beautiful layouts from three of our design team Ladies. They have created some lovely layouts for the little ladies in their lives. Julianne, Larissa and Hilde have put a lot of work into their pages as you can see.

Julianne has called this layout -"YOU ARE MY EVERYTHING:" Don't you love the pretty colours she has used. I love the little banners at the bottom of her layout, so simple but so effective. The blue just adds that lovely contrast to balance the pink. I like the way she has added her journaling, so clever. Her girls are so beautiful and this is a lovely layout on them.

ID materials used: 8 Butterflies on board - Code IDS0003

12 Buttons on board - Code IDS0031

Julianne has included the techniques she has used so you can have a go at going the page if you want to.

Techniques Used: The butterflies were inked with two different shades of blue from the Ingvilde Bolme/Prima inks. Once dry, I coated them with Tattered Angels Glam (in Chandelier). I adhered them to my page with Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to raise them off the page. The buttons were inked with a hot pink from the Ingvilde Bolme/Prima inks, Once dry, I coated them (very thickly) with Dimensional Magic. This gave a beautiful, shiny finish once it was dry. I finished them off by tying bakers twine through the centre, before I adhered them to my page. The phrase "You Are My Everything", was first inked with a cream/beige from the Ingvild Bolme/Prima inks. For a pearlescent finish, I then coated the phrase with a cream/pearl colour from the Twinkling H2O range. Finally, after deciding it still did not stand out enough from the page, I added a light coat of Crystalline Kindy Glitz.

Other products used: Glitz Designs papers; Glitz designs rub-ons; Sassafras flowers; Zva Creative rhinestone flourish; Hambly Washi tape; Zva Creative rhinestones; The Twinery bakers twine; and Liquid Pearls.

The next layout is from Larissa, just look at all the detail she has added to her page. Again it is a lovely layout for the little lady in your life. She has used some of our tinnies Florishes which she has painted white. I love the way she has layered her print papers.

I love the little banner on her page and the way she has used it to hang the little ovals from. Don't you love the bling and flowers, so many little bits and pieces and so pretty.

IDT0001 3 Flourishes on a board

Look at the way Larissa has used lace and bling. I love the fact that she has placed three photos on her layout.
Another close up of her layout.

Larissa work is so detailed and there is always lots to look at .
