Fridge Magnets Instead of Cards

Merry Christmas!!

Only 2 sleeps people until the fat man arrives, and guess what?  For the first time in about 10 years I am organised I have nothing left to do except food prep! The flip side of this is that I didn't get a chance to make Christmas Cards this year, hey something has to give! In most cases people only have the cards out for around a month then out them away in a special box which holds all their treasured memories (or so I am told!!).  So this year I have made fridge magnets from mini canvas's that way people will hopefully stick them on the fridge and look at them all year round and they are super easy and quick! I also did this last year but they were all Christmas themed so this year I did a mixture and whilst I can't show you them all as some don't have chipboard below are some of the ones which do have chipboard.  

It was all about the glitter for these ones and they make a great substitute for cards just pick up some magnetic tape from the local craft store or discount store and stick it on the back and you are done!

I really hope that during this holiday period you can make some time for yourself to create and take some "me" time.

Good As Gold and A Wedding Anniversary!

Hello and welcome to the Imaginarium Designs Chipboard blog.

Leonie here today sharing my chipboard creations for February.   This month I decided to go with a bit of a gold theme, all the chipboard I've used has been coloured gold in various ways.   Gold still seems to be very popular which is fine by me because I love the way it looks on my scrapbook pages. 

This first page features my parents in their younger days out on a date, with it almost being Valentines day I thought it an appropriate photo to scrap.  Plus, today is the 10th of February - their wedding anniversary- married 54years, what an awesome achievement.

I've added lots of Imaginarium Chipboards and teamed it up with the Hello Love paper collection from crate paper.

I used gold Stampendous embossing powder to emboss the chipboard frame and large heart on this page.   The script words I painted gold and then added gold glitter.  I just love how the gold chipboard all stands out against the pink, red and turquoise of the patterened papers.

Gorgeous Glittery Goodness!

Hello and welcome to my October post, Leonie Neal-Dawson here today, sharing some inspiration with Imaginarium Designs Chipboard.

This month all of my creations have featured glitter! I know it can get messy and end up absolutely everywhere but really who can resist some gorgeous glittery goodness?  It's so worth a little mess!

First up I have a couple of Christmas cards I put together and I'll show you how I like to cover my chipboard with glitter.

In the past when I've used glitter to cover something I find you can often miss spots and then what happens is you see the raw chipboard beneath the colour of the glitter and it doesn't look the best.

So what I do to counteract this is either paint or ink the chipboard first in the same or similar colour  to the glitter that I'm going to use.

In this case I used distress paint which goes on the chipboard really easy and gives a good solid coverage in one coat.  Green Glitter, so I used a green shade of paint.

Now here's where I have to work quick (because paint dries on the chipboard fairly quickly) and apply the Glitter before the paint dries.  When the paint does dries the glitter is stuck to the paint.  No real need to add glue of any kind.

By colouring the chipboard first if I happen to miss the odd spot when applying the glitter it doesn't mater too much because the overall effect is the same colour. 

If you prefer (and sometimes I do do this) is apply a second coat of glitter.

Just paint some glue over the first lot of glitter and apply the second batch to achieve a thicker, heavy appearance. 

My next project is a scrapbook page and I used some gorgeous doiley shaped chipboard pieces and covered them using the same technique above but using white glitter.

The Chipboard script words I used were painted various colours and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Lastly I used some gorgeous gold glitter from Prima Marketing to decorate the phrase and arrows I used on the page below.

The Moroccan lattice was painted with Distress paints in various colours to blend in with the background colours.

And that's the lot from me today.  I hope I've tempted you to get some glitter out next time 

you're adding chipboard to your craft projects.

Hello Hello :)

Today I would like to share with you 2 layouts that I have created using some of my favourite Imaginarium Designs chipboard, with a touch of Sparkle & Bling :)

This first one I call 'Warrior Princess' :)

As you can see I have used some delicious metallic paint and glitter on the chipboard, as well as some fabulous glass seed beads :) :) :)

On this one I have again used some metallic paint, glitter on the chipboard, and also some sequins :)

Well that is if for me for the moment! I do hope you have been enjoying the December Inspiration from the Fabulous Imaginarium Designs team?!
