Good Bye to Another Friend

Hello Everyone
Today we get to say Good Bye to Alison Bevis.

Alison has been a friend of Imaginarium Designs for any years and a personal friend of mine. We met through our love of scrapbooking and share many of the same interests and values. I really enjoy her company. Alison has embarked on a new journey and this is taking up a lot of her time. She is now the proud owner of The Crafty Chain a new scrapbooking store in Brisbane. Due to her commitment to her store Alison has decided to stand down from our Design Team. I will miss her input, but I will still get to catch up with her from time to time. Hopefully she will find time to be a guest designer sometime this year.

 Alison is an all round scrap booker, she can turn her hand to anything. Whether its a  beautiful card like the one above or a stunning layout like the one below. Alison always has some special for us.

This was a layout Alison did on herself. I love the strong colours and the use of our chipboard inked black for effect.

 

Alison also does shabby so well, look at all the back ground detail on this layout, and the lovely layering.  A special layout for a special lady.

 

 

 

"Totally Love This" was another one of Alison's Layout. She drew a heart shape with a couple of co-ordinating Distress markers, and then adhered a bunch of embellishments around the shape. She inked most of 'Nat's Hearts'  in pink. The title "Love This" Alison inked and beaded, "Totally" was covered with pearlescent ink, 'Loolabelle's Piechart and Heart Embellishments' reminded her of roses so she inked and beaded them and used them to overlay on her paper embellishments.

This is a really lovely example of Alison's work.

I really do hate saying goodbye to the ladies on our design team but it has to happen.

Life goes on, change is good for us, new opportunities come our way, another door opens as one closes and so on.

 

We all wish Alison the best for her future endeavours and hope she has a wonderful and stress free 2018. We hope she will visit us and keep in touch time permitting.

Wonderful Wednesday with Alison Bevis

Hello!!

 and Welcome to my September blog post - 

tentatively titled,

Wonderful Wednesday!!

Well, okay I obviously couldn't think of something better so kept it - 

as Wednesday are a wonderful...

I was going to make Christmas cards, bought some beautiful red papers,

had some fabulous chipboard pieces ready and then...

I was at a scrapbook store and saw a small paper pad with lovely images and soft colours, so

here you have the cards created from those papers with just a little chipboard - 

I can never have too many CARDS
 - it's always handy to have a variety ready at short notice!!

they are all very simple,

Inked chipboard to add some colour

this title inked with Oxides and then sprinkled with water - love that effect!

The paper was so lovely I just added a chipboard frame for the sentiment -

...and a little camera!

How lovely are these little frames on cards - such a good size!!

The frames hold a little flower perfectly on a bed of crackle medium - 

A little bonus stamping for the background

Do you love Oxides for colouring chipboard?

It just looks so good!!

I was loving these funny photos,

so did a bit of scrapping too!

add a doiley, or two, 

a couple of handmade embellishments (Thanks Shaneen)

a sprinkling of blooms

and

some beautiful flourish chipboard pieces to go with the title

- done!!

I recently visited SENZ in New Zealand, while I was there my friend Melissa and I had a little adventure on Sunday morning, we had a civilised coffee and cake in Centrepoint - 

we enjoyed the 360' views of Auckland and,

then there was an opportunity for some photos with an optical illusion,

of course Melissa had to get a funny photo...

and I documented the 'green screen' action - 

I even included a squashed penny we rolled while we were there as a memento!!

Step 1, 2 and 3 Plus a Holiday layout with Alison

Hello!!

Did you miss me last month?

Whoopsy, I moved house, packed my chipboard and totally was distracted with unpacking!!

Yes, my craft room went from an Office to a Bookcase....

my goodness, it has been a challenge!!

So I thought I better catch up a bit so have a few extra projects

Capturing a Moment in Thailand

and a close up of the chipboard - a combination of Paint powder and sprays were used to colour the cogs and black ink for the title.

The Look of Love..

I started by drawing a circle about in the middle of my page and then covering the outer edges with crackle medium. When it was dried and crackled, added a little subtle colour with paint powder to capture the 'cracks'.... and then add some floral paper, a photo and chipboard!!

Added some sequins to each part of the banner for a bit of glitz!!

This page came from a challenge by Natalie May to create something with the leftover 'Pie chart' pieces at the Unmasked retreat in July - I began by masking a rectangular space for the photo and then adhered the Pie pieces along 3 sides. I've dabbed on gesso to cover the the pieces, plus a little extra around the sides, before sprinkling with paint powder and spritzing with water and letting dry naturally. 

Embellishing with a bit of lace, flowers, a few mirrored arrows and that great title which spotlights a cute belly.

Onto the next step in the story...

This layout was created with some resin pieces from a previous kit which I didn't get around to entering in a challenge... with a great Imaginarium Designs chipboard title 'Our Little Girl'

You'll have to imagine how lovely the shimmer is from the colour spray!!

Masculine Cards with Alison Bevis

Hello!!

...and Welcome,

It's Alison here today and I just have a few projects to share with you,

I did have a couple more planned... alas our recent relocation and family 'stuff' mean my 24 hours each day had significantly reduced 'spare' time!!

I like to give myself a little theme and chose Masculine,

so I've created a couple of quick and easy cards for the Men in our life.

Masculine Cards

The cards are all made with the mini paper pack from Feature Arts Paper and is a great range about Cruising.

I simply cut some squares of patterned paper and layered it with some cork sheet, a canvas star and a couple of pieces of inked chipboard.

Another quick and simple design - a couple of squares of patterned paper, inked and adhered to the centre of a card base. Trim a striped piece into a banner, and a cluster of embellishments - chipboard cogs have been inked and then coated with Glossy Accents or similar to finish.

Chipboard pieces are such a great way to add a bit of jazz to a simple card. The negative or rubbish from a cog set is inked and then used as a cute frame on a focal point.

A couple of squares of patterned paper, cork sheet, clear stickers and a few pieces of a great mixed cog design roughly inked to add a bit of a weathered look. A couple of extra pieces of metal to finish.

It isn't always easy to create cards for the men but maybe try some simple designs for you next cards?
