April creating with Sonia Thomason

Hi everyone, Sonia here with my creations for April. It's been a hectic time in our household with my oldest about to play for WA in the Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships. For the past few months I feel like if we haven't been at school, training or at a tournament then all I've been doing is cleaning the sand out of my car and the house! Scrapbooking has at least given me some moments of peace and time to relax - thank goodness for this amazing hobby!

Love is everything

When life is hectic its always nice to know there is someone who always has your back and I am fortunate to have the most amazing husband. We have recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of when we met - although it definitely does not feel anywhere near that long!
I originally did this layout for the April colour of the month but decided it was more blue than green so swapped it to my monthly post. Somehow my projects never end up where I intended for them to go!

Imaginarium Designs products used: Birds and Heart (IDFR002), 4 Small Butterflies (IDT0014), Love is Everything Phrase (IDP0023) and Heart Stencil (IDMM001)

The chipboard has been heat embossed using White embossing powder to give a crisp white finish:

The butterflies from the Small Butterfly pack have the most gorgeous detail and add movement to your page:

I am totally in love with these Heart Frames! The scalloped edge heart comes in a pack with another style of heart. I wanted to use two of the same style so I used two packs to achieve the look I wanted:

Vintage Tiny Tags

I felt like having a play with something totally different and I went searching through my stash of Imaginarium Designs Chipboard for inspiration. When I came across the pack of Tiny Tags I couldn't wait to start fussy cutting some images I'd wanted to use for a while - these were so much fun to create!!!

Imaginarium Designs products used: Five Tags in a Board (IDS0064)

How gorgeous are these tags?!!! First I covered each tag in a vintage paper and then used sandpaper to smooth edges (particularly on the scalloped edge one as it was hard to get the craft knife into all the scallops!)

I used my cropodile to add a hole and a grommet into the top of the tag. Then I inked the edges and flicked on a brown Mist

Finally I added my fussy cut images with foam tape - so cute and so fun!!

Your Time to Shine

Imaginarium Designs products used:  Your Time to Shine (IDP0150), Steampunk Clock (IDS0030) and 9 Cogs on a Board (IDS0018)

Who said cogs were only for boy pages?!! I love using cogs and adding them to a floral cluster as then work so well with the shape of the flowers. I used a white pen to add some lines around the cogs for additional movement to the page:

Imaginarium Designs has some of the most gorgeous phrases around! I adore the font on this 'Your Time to Shine'!!

Adding to the 'time' bit of the title phrase this Steampunk Clock adds a fabulous element to the page!
