Bringing in 2017 with vintage metallics

Hi everyone! Sonia here with my first post for 2017. Lets hope this is a good year for us all - I'm hoping for a happy and peaceful year after 2016. However I know that I always have the peace of the craftroom when I need to have those moments away from the happenings of the world. It's amazing how some paper, paints, embellishments and of course, chipboard can instantly make me feel calm and ready to tackle what the day brings
For my January creations I stayed in one of my favourite themes for my gorgeous Imaginarium Designs chipboard - aged metallic embossing. It creates such a fabulous textured look to the chipboard:

Happy Everafter Journal page

Imaginarium Designs chipboard used: 'Happy' IDP0046, 'Nat's Hearts' IDD0042 and  'Circles Border' IDB0008

I heat embossed the Circles Border in aged silver and then cut it down the centre of the strip. The ends were trimmed off the soften the look on the page

I love to use the smaller chipboard pieces to add flow and movement across the page and Nat's Hearts are the perfect size to do this!

Vintage Banners

I was inspired to have a play with some banners after seeing a gorgeous creation by Fiona Paltridge. These are so much fun to make and you can just let your imagination go and just have fun creating!

Imaginarium Designs chipboard used: 'Love, Grow, Hello' IDW0083, 'Precious Darling', 'Nat's Hearts' IDD0042, 'Denise's Oval Art IDD0047 and 'Peacock Feather' IDDL0002

The aged gold embossing works the chipboard in perfectly with the vintage images:

I am totally in love with Denise's Oval Art Frame! The detail is just incredible!

With the Darling word, I inked the chipboard with Versacolor 'Pinecone':

How much fun are the banners! I think the possibilities are just endless for some crafting and creating time!

Happy crafting on this fabulous Australia Day!
