Just A Little Love!

Hello, hello, hello!!! It's Julianne joining you today.
Here in South Australia, we have a store called Ned's, and it's filled with so many pretty things for your home, and there is always a bargain to be found. Every time I walk into the store, I always find something to alter - and this week's bargain was two pretty white picture frames for $7 each.

I have just added new display cabinets to my home, so I decided to create two framed decor pieces that I can put on display in the cabinets.

The first frame was inspired by a frame I found on Pinterest (see the picture here). It has been filled with a heart made of hand-made flowers.

They are simple flowers made by cutting out a circle, then cutting the circle into a spiral, winding the spiral up tightly, then gluing the spiral onto a small tab of paper. I then glued these flowers onto a heart shaped template, before adhering it to the blue chevron background paper.

To finish my heart off, I have added the word "LOVE" and a small Monarch butterfly, both of which have been embossed with Stampendous Kaleidoscope Embossing Powder. I have then filled the centre of the flowers with pearls of various sizes. And there you have it - a quick and simple decor frame to put on display in my house.

The second frame was even easier. I have kept the design simple and clean.

I have cut out 14 large hearts and 14 smaller hearts from co-ordinating papers. I then inked all the edges of the hearts, before layering the hearts on top of each other. I used foam tape to raise the small hearts above the larger hearts, and foam tape to raise the large hearts of the background paper. This gives the overall design more depth and dimension.

I have placed a large pearl in the centre of each heart, then finished the design by adding the phrase "TRUE LOVE" to the centre of the design. The phrase has been embossed with Stampendous Shabby Pink Embossing enamel.

  4. I love these décor pieces. What a great way to highlight the chipboard and making the rolled roses can be so therapeutic. I'll roll a stack while watching tv or just relaxing. Both of these will look great year round.
