Butterflies and Roses in July

Welcome everyone! Julianne here, and today I am sharing two projects with you. The first is an ATC frame filled with beautiful butterflies, and the second is a layout featuring flowers from my garden.

I have had this ATC frame for quite a while, but I am not an ATC creator, so I decided to do something a little different. I took my inspiration from the displays that butterfly collectors use. But I wanted something prettier than just butterflies pinned to a frame, so using Postcards From Paris II (Webster's Pages), doilies, dies cuts, flowers, and chipboard, I created a beautiful butterfly filled frame that I can hang on my wall.

On the clock face I have used gold embossing powder to create a lush, rich finish. I cut a small corner piece off the frame, and used teal embossing enamel to create an aged and distressed appearance. And yes, I even included a bottle of glitter as a finishing touch.

Again, I have used the embossing powder and embossing enamel to cover the chipboard tag and balloon. However, the title "BELIEVE" has been covered with white gesso, then coated with Chandelier Glitter Glam (from Tattered Angels).

In a project like this, it is the little details that can make all the difference. I have finished off my project with rhinestones, glitter, Liquid Pearls, and Prima resin and metal shapes.

Now because it is the middle of winter here in Australia, and everything is cold and wet, I decided to cheer myself up by creating a layout about a gorgeous Spring rose that I found in my garden.

I had some fun with my an Pastels and a couple of masks to create my background, then finished with lots of Prima papers, flowers and bling. I should mention, these are really old papers that have been in my stash for several years. And my title has been created using a new Imaginarium Designs alphabet set - Isobel - and I can honestly say this is one of my favourite alphabet designs ever.

I have used an aqua embossing powder from Lindy's Stamp Gang to cover the frame and embellishment 8. This powder gives a gorgeous metallic shine to the finished project.

I have covered the swirl corner and doily with a peach coloured ink, Gold Lace mist (Tattered Angels), another layer of peach ink, then finished with a clear embossing powder. By mixing the Gold Lace mist between layers of ink, it creates a dual tone finish when the clear embossing powder is applied.
