A Lighter Shade Of Grunge...

Hello everyone! Julianne here today to share a layout with you.

Recently, I was fortunate enough to attend a couple of workshops with Finnibair. Her style is so unique - lots of grunge, layers, and dark, moody colours. But what happens when you mix that grungy style with my style, and add a dash of Imaginarium Designs?

Magic happens!!!!!

"LITTLE MISS K"
This layout was so much fun to create, and it came about so easily. I have used lots of paper layers, masking, washi tape, flowers, Imaginarium Designs Chipboard, metal embellishment pieces, and bling.

The colours were created using Glimmermists, inks, and Pan Pastels.

Mixing Finnibair's grunge style with my feminine and detailed style resulted in an eclectic mix of embellishments. Everything from flowers, doilies, vines, chipboard, metal pieces, bottle caps, through to rhinestones, and pearl flourishes.

So much texture and detail. Many layers, and many levels.
The vine was cut into smaller pieces to mix in with the embellishments, as was the pearl flourish.
Paper layers were distressed and inked for added texture and dimension.
Chipboard pieces were layered and mixed with metal embellishments.

The border embellishments were painted with white gesso, then sprayed with Glimmermist, and coated with a layer of Glimmer Glaze, some Pan Pastels, and finished with a rhinestone.

Some of the chipboard pieces I used were left raw, other pieces were coated with white gesso. This gave a different finish on various pieces once complete. The gesso coated pieces came out light, bright and pastel coloured, with the raw pieces taking on a deeper and richer hue.

The letter K was inked and then finished with a coat of Dimensional Magic.

The Monarch butterflies were coated with white gesso, then I added some Glimmermist, a little pink ink, a little Pan pastel colour, and a coating of Kindy Glitz. Isn't the sparkle and colour on them just amazing?
