Patricia with my very first post as an Imaginarium Designer...I enjoyed altering my chipboard so much and hope to inspire you all to try some of these techniques...
First up is a LO that I titled Carpe Diem, which for me goes hand in hand with my word for the year namely Persevere...
I treated the Ovals with Stampendous Ivory Aged Enamel Embossing. I cut the top Fleur-de-lis and adhered it to the top of the door. I love how it adds extra detail to the door...
The beautiful Butterfly's were first primed with Gesso and then painted with some Lindys Stampgang Micas, Autumn Plum to the bottom one and Adobe Fire to the top one, this gives them a luscious shine which changes as one moves the LO...The Spade Picket Fence Border was inked with various colours of ColourBox Mix'd Media Inx CHOX and a random coating of Ranger Distress Crackle Paint / Brushed pewter was applied.
I really love how my Alphas turned out! I first inked them with some CHOX, and then embossed them in an inked Sizzex Wood grain embossing folder. I applied a little black chalk to the edges. I just love the colour and texture this achieved!
The flourishes were also inked and some of the Adobe Fire Micas was painted on as well. I also used the negative as a stencil and painted some Gesso on the back ground paper to give the illusion of a shadow...
Imaginarium Products used on this LO are...
Capital Letters IDAUC 0001
Lower Case Letters IDNLC 0001
Jessica Flourish IDFL 0014
Monarch Butterfly Small IDT 0031
Oval Frames IDT 0002

Our Boy
I don't like fussy cutting, not good at it...but the back ground of these 1984 photos of my son were really bad, therefore I tried my hand at photo fussy cutting!
I painted all the chipboard with the same acrylic paint, but gave each piece some different treatment afterwards... I tried to catch some of the web strands from my Krylon Webbing Spray in the corner of the frame, but was not to successful this time round...at least I now have some texture on the frame which I further enhanced with some random clear UTEE on the diagonal corners.
I stamped the Honeycomb hexagons with the Water Droplets stamp from Designs by Ryn and embossed them with clear embossing powder.
For this chippie I added some Ranger Blue Glass embossing powder to the wet paint and heat set it with my heat gun.
I used the same embossing technique as the previous Alphas, but this time chose to de-boss instead, in other words I placed the chippie facing the back side of the folder. Again used my favourite technique on chippies, the random application of some clear UTEE... I like to heat until it just starts to melt, leaving the little nooks and crevices which adds extra texture. I used Sizzex's Bubble wrap folder.
The Heart Top Picket Fence Border was stamped with Tim Holtz's Wood Grain stamp and the hearts were sprinkled with a little Fairydust Glitter.
I used the following Imaginarium Products on this LO...
Swirly Frame 3x2 IDF 0004
Honeycomb 6x6 IDS 0054
Phrases IDP 0006
Phrases IDP 0051
Spade Top Picket Fence Border IDB 0005
