Altered Mirrors with Nadia

Hi everyone! Nadia with you here today. I wanted to share with you 2 hand mirrors that I have altered that are for my daughters. This is something I have wanted to do for them for a VERY long time and I have had these mirrors for a few years, hoping I would get around to altering them the way I wanted to and include a special message for my daughters on them.

Of course these 2 mirrors are not for them to use now, as they are too little. I am envisioning them being somewhere in my daughter's special place in their rooms when they are around my age.

The message I have written on the back of the mirrors is the same for both and it is something that definitely governs my everyday life ... "Remember that after all has been said and done you should be able to look at yourself in the mirror" . This is a literal reference yes, but what i am trying to tell them here is they must always be careful of what they say and what they do in life, and I suppose be fair towards others, kind and loving. Stick up for your self yes and know what its the right time to talk  BUT I want them to never upset people unnecessarily and avoid putting people down etc etc. I think its important for them to understand (especially being girls in this day and age) that beauty has NOTHING to do with looking "pretty" in front of a mirror, but it has more to do with what kind of person you are , what's in your heart and soul that makes you proud to look at your self in the mirror.  I think these are character qualities that I wish them to have and I try to lead by example.

For all the chipboard pieces here I applied the same technique .  I simply added a couple of layers of gesso and inked the edges and shapes  randomly.
