Valentines Day for the Men!

Hello Everyone!  Are you all thinking like me "where did January go"! I can't really believe that we are already a week into February.  So you know that Valentines Day is next week and I was looking for some inspiration, whilst I don't really get into the whole commercialism of the day I think sometimes it serves as a reminder to just let that someone we love know that we appreciate them and everything they do.  So I decided to make me hubby a noodle gift box which I will fill with his favourite chocolates & movie voucher with a matching card.

The heart chipboard is some great new designs that the lovely Jane recently sent me and I love them!

The great thing about these "valentine" projects is that there are no flowers (flowers and I recently had a break-up!), and I have also used some washi tape which I sometimes struggle with knowing just where to place it, worked like a charm on the card.

For the noodle box I have made an acetate window by sandwiching a piece of acetate between two of the heart chipboards. The gorgeous coloured embossing powder is Colour Blast in "Just Blue" and I did three coats to get the finish I was after.

The words have been done in two colours (steel as base, two coats, and snow white over the top) - I will often do this as I find myself lately wanting a mixture of a few different colours.  Chipboard lends itself so well to the mixing of embossing powders.

The little horse and cart button is actually a fridge magnet but when I saw the pack I didn't want to use them to stick stuff on the fridge so they have been in my stash for about ten years waiting for just the right project.  Don't be afraid to use ribbons on male based projects but place them strategically so they are not the main focus.

Thanks for swinging by and lets hope hubby doesn't see this blog post before Wednesday!!!

Keep Creating!
Wendy

The heart with the word "love" around the edge will be up on the website soon I am sure!

  1. I agree, I have not been using flowers at all lately, though I am sure I will find my way back to them lol
