A Little Steampunk And A Little Vintage

Hi Everyone,  Karen here with a couple of projects to share with you today!

For my first project I decided to do a canvas piece for this amazing Steampunk photo that I found.  I used a small canvas and to alter the chipboard pieces I first gessoed them and let that dry and then I applied Inka Gold Mettalic Rub -  Green and Copper.  I also applied the Rub to all the metal pieces on the canvas.

Imaginarium Designs Chipboard Used:
Phrase - A Dream Is A Wish Our Hearts Make IDP0106
Skelton of Moroccan IDS0067

Other Materials Used:
Tim Holtz "Halloween" Paper Collection
Tim Holtz Die Cut "Vintage Lace"
Prima Metal
Inka Gold Mettalic Rub "Green and Copper"

For my second project I did a layout of my niece's little guy Carter.  For this layout I wanted a vintage feel to it so I inked all the chipboard piece with some Vintage Photo ink and then rubbed some Inka Gold Mettalic Rub - Copper.  I used a wonderful tutorial from our former team mate and ever-talented Miranda Edney for this layout and added some of my own little touchs and love how it turned out!  IRL the chipboard pieces really look rusty..so love it!!

  4. Those are fantastic. I've been trying to do something like this for the cover of my upcoming vintage romantic ghost story collection, but I haven't struck the right balance yet. Also, how to you get such good finished pictures of your projects?

    Thanks,
