Grunge Vs Whimsy

Hi There!

Shell Carman here today kicking off the first official post for the 2014 Design Team! I'm so excited to be part of the team for another year!

Today I have 2 projects, very different styles. I love that ID chippies are so versatile! You can dress them up to suit any style!

First up is a my page "It's a boy thing". My little man Hunter is developing a real love for fishing. He loves to go out in the boat with his Dad and Poppy and this Summer holidays he managed to catch quite a few! He thinks he is a bit of a pro at the whole fishing thing now LOL!

The Photos frame was inked with Donna Salazar Designs Mixed Media Inx Color Box Black. This is a really wet ink that gives great coverage for chipboard.

The It's a boy thing title was sprayed with Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Time Travel Teal mist. The cogs were inked with Donna Salazar Designs Mixed Media Inx Color Box in Sparrow. I then painted some Mod Podge and then sprinkled some Aged Hunter Embossing powder from the Stampendous Frantage Encrusted Jewel Kit and set it with a heat gun. This powder has a mix of gold, black & green so it gives a really great effect on chipboard.

The arrows were also inked with Donna Salazar Designs black ink

Now onto my 2nd project. A whimsical Happy Birthday card. I finally cut into some old Sassafrass Lass paper I was hoarding. I was saving it as Sassafrass Lass no longer make paper but I decided it was no good just sitting on the shelf LOL!

I painted both chippies with Distress Paint in Antique Linen. The oval frame was then painted with Distress Crackle Paint in Scattered Straw & the title was coloured with a Kaiserfusion pen in Y04
