Febuary's Colour of the Month

Hello Everyone.
It's week two of our first "Colour of the Month" Challenge.
Last week I shared some of our Design Team Members work using our Colour of the Month. Natalie May, Wendy Duwakin, and Sue Smyth kicked it of for us, with some beautiful projects to inspire everyone.

I also shared the background to our collage of photos.
This week it's time to show some more work from some of our amazing design team.

First up - is Solange Marques from Brazil.
Solange has use some of my favourite Imaginarium Designs chipboard on her stunning Journal page.
As with all Solange's work, her backgrounds are wonderful. A lot of work goes into them before she even starts the "Front" bit of her project.
This journal page of Solange started as a blank page, everything you can see has been created or added by her.
She has used Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays/magicals to create a lovely red foundation page.

Solange gave me this description for her pages.

I love mixed media art and this month I've decided to do art journal pages. I've applied white and red embossing powder on all of the chipboards. The hearts are perfect for this theme.
Solange has used one of my favourite chipboard shapes. It is our chipboard Honeycomb 8x8 inch piece. Solange has used white embossing powder in a random way to create a "Rustic" look to her honeycombe chipboard.
Solange also used a selection of our chipboard hearts in different sizes and applied red embossing powder to them. This gives them a deep richness that painting them would not have achieved.

Solange has added lots of personalized embellishments to her journal pages along with one of our chipboard words embossed with red embossing powder.  Some of Nat's tiny hearts embossed with more red powder add a lovely finishing touch.

There is a whole process to making  beautiful journaling pages like Solange's and I really have not done justice to her work by describing it to you as I have.  She has created a stunning journal page to celebrate "True Love".  What a gorgeous way to record your love for someone special.
Thank you Solange for creating a beautiful journaling page to inspire us.

Louise Nelson has also done a mixed media project for us, its one of her beautiful A4 layouts.

I really love Louise's work. It is quite different to anyone else's. It's her minimalistic approach to her designs that appeals to me so much. Though  this one of Louise's has a lot happening!.

Louise gave me this description for her layout.
For this challenge Louise has used a muted red palette for the layout background to make the vibrantly painted chipboard pieces and title 'POP"!
So true, but what Louise didn't say was all the work she did to create a beautiful foundation to display her chosen few chipboard pieces and her photo on to. I am only guessing that she use a mask, added some shades of red in a wash and some of her famous flicks to add more depth of  colour.  She also added some hand cut shapes to which she applied more of  a more deeper shade of red. Such a contrast to her white foundation page.

Louise chose to use one of our Project Life Style and smaller sized boards. This one has a mix of small chipboard pieces, perfect for Louise's style of scrapbooking.

Louse's decision to paint her chipboard pieces and title with a vibrant red paint really works well on this page. The chipboard "pop" of the page and draw your eye to her photo and her strip journaling.
A really lovely page with so many elements to keep your attention and make you want to see more.
Thank you Louise for creating another one of your wonderful layouts to inspire us.
