Hi everyone, Hope you all had a wonderful Mothers Day and had a very relaxing day. I'm back this month to share some of the pieces that I created recently.
My first piece was produced for the amazing Kraft+ Out of the Box Challenge which Imaginarium Designs were sponsoring this month. The challenge was to not use square or rectangular photos on a Kraft paper stock background.
I used a honeycomb die from Tim Holtz to cut out the photo and covered the hexagon shapes out of the Honeycomb chipboard and Loolabelles' nested hexagons to compliment the photo shape. The title 'Got the travel bug' and 'oh yeah' were painted with acrylic paint.

My second piece is a journal page. I love using my handmade journal to explore techniques, paints/inks and products. I alway use pieces of Imaginarium chipboard in this journal.
The background was created using Finnabair metallic paints over gessoed pages and tissue paper with distressed printed material and material threads. The chipboard obtained it's sparkling depth was a simple layer of Finnabair metallic teal paint or StazOn Midnight blue ink.
The chipboard I used included:

The third piece is a canvas layout using Inktense pencils to draw interlocking squares like the chipboard I used.
The background was made using Inktense pencils and a brush loaded with water and layers of book pages, gesso and white cheese cloth. Nats Squares were painted with the same pencils and the title, bright green acylic paint for the 'marker' and arrow were painted with hot pink acylic paint. Flowers were added and then splats of the watered down hot pink and Inktense dark blue were used to bring the page together.
