Sandi's August Projects

Hi, I'm back to share some more of my recent layouts using the amazing Imaginarium Designs Chipboard.

I have 3 to share with you today all with photos of my wonderful grandkids.

BIKES RULE

The first layout is my very handsome grandson whose life revolves at the moment on everything about bikes. He hasn't got time to do Nanny a painting at child care because he "ride bike fast Nanny and crash" (laughs thinking it is the best thing since sliced bread)

To prepare my chipboard I used Krylon Gesso Spray 'White' this give the chipboard a coating of sealant which minimises inks and paints being absorbed into the chipboard and provides more accurate colours.

This is a very grungy style using bronze, copper and silver metallic 'Versa colour' inks and 'Metallic Melts' embossing powders to cover the chipboard cogs to obtain a weathered metal look. The bicycle was firstly covered in silver ink and then embossed with Sherwood Green 'Metallic Melts'. The cogs had a small amount of Turquoise Versa Color Ink to enhance the antique look.

The background was created using the 'Stencil Girl' Cog stencil firstly with white crackle paste (a large section to the right and small area on the edge of the left hand side) and then when dry sprayed with Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals 'Steampunk Sepia' over the stencil. After the initial spraying I turned the stencil over and stamped the ink on the front of the stencil onto the page.

I mixed Prussian Blue acrylic paint with some gel medium and smeared it vertically over some of the main sections of the crackle paint and a little over the small section to the left of the paper. I used white acrylic paint and gel medium mixed in a fine nosed squeezy bottle and using this I wrote the words 'Bikes Rule' and added small sections of rough lines.

The Super Star and Boy silhouette chipboard pieces were covered with in black Versa color ink and then 'First light' Metallic Melts embossing powder. I then used Midnight Blue 'Staz On' ink over the top sprinkled more Metallic Melts on to it and then used my heat gun to re-emboss the pieces. To finish off I used silver Versa Color Ink to highlight the edges.

The page was finished off by backing the photo with a stack of papers including an old book page, brown paper pocket, paper and cardboard from my stash.

LOVE THIS DAY

My second layout is of my beautiful Grand daughter, this time I used a  A4 black card to create a different effect from my first layout.

Using white modeling paste and an old rewards card I smeared the paste along the top 1/3 section of the page. When dry I mixed Lindy's Stamp Gang 'Glory of the Seas Gold' Color shot with a little water and using a soft sponge applied it over the Decor #1 Prima stencil.

The top colour on the paste is Lindy Stamp Gang 'Magnolia Magenta Gold' sprayed and then drops added into pools of ink.

The clock and heart chipboard pieces were coloured with Amethyst Versa Color ink and Royal purple Metallic melts embossing powder. While the embossing was still hot I sprinked a little Silver Melallic Melts and melted that on too.

The clock hands were covered with Black Versa Color ink and Carbon Metallic Melts and the words' #Intagram', 'day' and 'Love this' in white Versa Color ink and 'Glistening snow'.

The cord I found in my strings and things tin is made from a natural twine coloured in similar colour variations as in the Lindys ink I used on my background.

The photo was placed on a small piece of card to lift it from background and a stack of paper from my Kaisercraft 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" paper collections were stapled together and then placed with the clock hands behind the photo.

The page was framed by a roughly drawn frame around the edge of the page with a white gel pen.

 B IS FOR BROTHER

My third layout is of both of my gorgeous grand children. This was the best photo bomb ever. Immy was showing me the fairy costume she was going to wear to her school dressup day and as my daughter took the photo Zander jumped in with a huge grin on his face.

The background was created by placing modeling paste over my Stencil girl 'Building' stencil and when dry I sprayed water over left side of the paper before dripping Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst 'Tibetan Poppy Teal'. I continued to spray water and drip colour until I was happy with the effect. To finish background I splattered some 'Magenta Magnolia Gold'.

The cross hatch chipboard is covered with black Versa Color ink and Carbon Metallic Melts embossing powder and the heart is Amethyst Versa Color ink and Royal purple Metallic melts embossing powder.

The B is for Brother was covered with Turquoise Versa Color ink with Glistening Snow Metallic Melts and a little silver sprinkled over while still hot and re-embossed. The outer edge heart section was made turquoise with ink.

The silhouette of the boy and girl were painted with Lindy's Teal and Magnolia, I made puddles on them to obtain different shades. Then edged with silver Versa Color. With the arrows covered with black ink.

Other elements that were added included a chipboard butterfly inked with 'Bisque' Versa Ink and brass cog.

To finish off the layout I made a stack of collected papers, stapled them together and glued them to the background, added the finished chipboard, black wire thread and then added the classic photo bomb photo which I'd backed with black card.
