Meet Katie Howard .... Katie won a Facebook comp a little while ago and is one of our lucky Guest Designers for this month!
Hi,
my name is Katie Howard and I am lucky enough to be a Guest Designer here at
Imaginarium Designs during November. First let me tell you a little about
myself. I am a (mostly) stay at home mum living in sunny Brisbane. I have three
beautiful children Niamh (15), Erin (13) and Liam (10) and a very supportive
and understanding husband! I have been scrapping for around 10 years, but have
always had a thing for pens, paper and stationery in general! I am currently
creating for the White With 1 challenge blog and also for D’lish Scraps. I have
a style that is probably considered clean with clusters and splatters!
You can
have a look at more of my work at my blog: katiehs-life.blogspot.com.au
Now,
I have to say that when my not so little parcel of goodies from the lovely
Natalie arrived I was beyond excited and I couldn’t wait to play! There were so
many gorgeous bits and pieces to choose from!
The first project I have for you is a page titled “Beautiful” and shows
how beautiful my 15 year old looks with straight teeth and no braces (not that
she wasn’t gorgeous before of course!!)
I
chose to use a large flourish that I covered in a white glitter embossing
powder (vanilla sparkle) I also covered the heart with the same embossing
powder. I placed the flourish and heart together so they almost look like the
one piece and together frame or underline the photos.
I
also used one of the frames that I painted up in black gesso, I love using
black to make bold statements on my pages. I cut the frame in half and used it
on either side of my photos. This is a great way to get more out of your
smaller frames.
Last of all I chose the word beautiful to be my title. I also painted this in black gesso
so it would stand out on the bright yellow background.
Thanks for joining me on my first post!

Your daughter is gorgeous and so is the page. I love the yellow orange color you used in the background to coordinate with her beautiful hair. Stunning.
ReplyDeleteThe title and other black embellies are so striking, love that! Great colours and your daughter's smile is gorgeous:-)
