Hi all!
Belinda here today to share two sweet, girly layouts with you.
First up is 'Sweet Dreams'.
I have used Denise's Flourish 1 in medium and small to add some interest to my flower cluster. I primed the chipboard with some heavy white gesso before applying Mint Green Heidi Swapp Color Shine with a make-up sponge. Once that was dry I added a little more gesso over the top in a patchy fashion.
I used gesso again to prime the lettering for the title. For the larger letters I also added some Inka Gold in Platinum over the surface to add a lovely metallic shimmer. As with the flourishes I added some Mint Green Heidi Swapp Color Shine to the word ' sweet'.
Here's what I used:
IDALC0001 Lower Case Letters
IDW0078 Trouble Sweet Beautiful
IDDD0002 Denise's Flourish 1 (medium)
IDDD0003 Denise's Flourish 1 (small)
'Beautiful' is my second layout this month and features a photo I took on the farm recently of a tender moment between a calf and its mother. It was so sweet to watch the mother gently washing her calf.
I have co-ordinated my chevrons and crosshatch chipboard pieces with the gorgeous Teresa Collins Life Emporium range by simply heat embossing them with Stampendous Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel.
For the title, I tried to create a woodgrain effect to match the papers by first priming the letters with gesso. Then I applied a brown ink before stamping in black with a woodgrain stamp. This made the letters a little too dark so I lightened them up by adding some lines with a white Posca Pen. I wasn't really happy with the result so toned it down a little by applying white gesso over the top. Still not happy, I then applied Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Blush. So it took a while to get the title looking the way I wanted it but it is fun to experiment right? :-)
Here's what I used:
IDA0005 Main Letter Set Lower Case
IDDL0001 Crosshatch
IDDL0022 Loolabelle's Chevrons #2
Don't forget to leave a comment to go into the draw to win a pack of chipboard!
Make sure you pop back tomorrow to see some more inspiration.
Cheers
Belinda
