Inner Goddess Canvas 

and Capture a Moment in Time layout

This month I am sharing a special layout, this is a photo of my parents wedding day.

They are long divorced now, but the photo is so redolent of the 60's. 

Here they are full of faith and hope for the future, which for a time was really

good. Sadly my Dad is terminally ill now and looking at the photo just reminds 

me of all the good moments in our family. This would 

have been one of them.

Sometimes the simple ways of altering chip is the best. I was inspired by a

scene in the Maleficent movie, which included lots of teal, black and gold.

So I have double embossed lots of the chipboard with aged gold embossing powder

I have used a Couture Creations A4 embossing folder to make the embossed background

then sprayed with turquoise glimmer mists.

When dry, I have rubbed gold paint over the raised areas.

Here also I have used all the little tinsy pearls, left over to make a 

beaded border.

I have used the A4 folder again to emboss black cardstock. I have rubbed it 

with gold paint, and sprayed with a fine glitter spray.

I loved this shot organza ribbon so had to add it, 

it matched the teal of the layout so well. I have added a gorgeous tassel to 

my cluster of flowers and trinkets.

To create an aged look to the frame.

Step by steps

1. Dab randomly over the frame with Versa Mark watermark pad.

2. Sprinkle with aged gold embossing powder.

3. Remove some of the powder if it is too tidy.

4. Heat set.

5. Rub over with black ink and wipe off with a wet wipe.

Now for something bigger!

Inner Goddess Canvas

You may remember last month I did a canvas all about Me, my artwork, my tools and 

techniques and items that mean something to the work I do.

This is also a canvas, but more about the things that make me, what I like 

and feel. I have included the things that make me happy.

So this time I approached the canvas differently.

I have used a selection of my favourite stencils to create 

texture with texture paste. I have added 

some oddly coloured rhinestone swirls, buttons, beads and lace.

Once dry I have painted with gesso.

The last canvas did not have flowers, this one does and I have clustered

them around the canvas. I love the little ombre tassel, made by wetting the 

tassel and just dipping into Dylusions Postbox red.

The bumpy texture is made by adding lots of little beads, adhered

by lots of gel medium.

I have simply gold embossed the title.

To create a inner glow, I have painted 

gesso rays from a central point to imitate the rays 

of the sun for the goddess radiance.

Add old brooches, buttons, trinkets, resin shapes and even an old 

name badge.

all of these have been painted with gesso, then sprayed with a selection

of glimmer mists and dylusions. Dry brush edges with black gesso,

then rub over with gold paint. And to finish add rhinestones, pearls and flowers

after you have sprayed the canvas.

Handy Hint

Cover the photo with a wet wipe to stop over spray.

The moisture in the wipe is a greater barrier than

a dry tissue, which will just absorb the spray and sit on the 

photo.
