A Mother's Day Card And A Pretty Girl Layout...

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Imaginarium Designs blog. Julianne here, and today I am sharing a Mother's Day card, and a layout with you.

"MOTHER'S DAY CARD"
I wanted to create something extra special for my mother this year. Mum loves her garden, so I chose that as my theme for her card. I really want her to know how much she means to her family.

I normally struggle with creating cards, and they usually take me forever. But this one came together very quickly. I started with the embellishments at the top and bottom of the page, covering them with brown ink, then a layer of tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze (Cowboy).

I added a paper doily, and layered die cuts and flowers on top. I finished the card with the word "MUM" which has been highlighted with gold embossing powder. Two pink pearls and a dash of glitter, and I was complete!

My second project is a layout for my youngest daughter.

"WISHING YOU HAPPY DAYS"
My youngest is always a happy child, so wishing her "Happy Days" was a perfect title. To create this title, I simply covered the chipboard with pink ink, then added a layer of Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam.

This layout was all about the layers and fussy cutting. I started with the images of the little girl and bird cage, then worked my way up from there.

I wanted to try something a little different with the frame. You can't see it in this photo, but in real life, this frame has a beautiful golden shimmer to it. I simply coated the chipboard with ink (Sand), then sprayed a heavy coat of Glimmermist (Gold) over the top, and dried it with a heat gun to make it set. I finished off the frame by highlighting it with some pink pearls.

I repeated the same technique that I used on the frame, with the hot air balloon. Again, I just couldn't capture it in the photo (I tried with several photos but without success). The clock and compass has been cut down in size. I've added ink, and a coat of Glimmer Glaze (Cowboy). It gives a beautiful rich, lustrous finish.

Here you can see some of the layers and details involved.
I finished off the layout by highlighting some of the flowers with Kindy Glitz, and highlighting the little girl with Stickles.
