Colour of the Month Challange - April

Hello Everyone.
Welcome to our "Colour of the Month" Challenge.
The colour of the month for  March is GREEN. This colour has a huge range of shades, so I am sure everyone will have a photo with at least a touch of green in it.

Our Photo Collage is made up of my personal photos.
This months photo's are as follows.
Shrek and Fiona at Universal Studio's Los Angeles USA.
Work Truck from Leigh Creek Mine SA.
Darwin Aquarium NT.

If you would like to take up our challenge and come up with a project using our colour of the month, then send me some photos and a list of Imaginarium Design chipboard used. It needs to sent to me by the 23rd of the month. We will show it here on our blog during the month or at the end.
At the end of the month I will choose two winners. Each winner will receive a bundle of our chipboard worth $50. Every week the design team will be sharing their projects to inspire you. We will also be giving way 2 smaller bundles of chipboard each month as well. All you need to do to be in the running to win one of these is leave a comment on any of the posts we share or on our facebook page. All winners will be announced on the 25th of the month.
So Lets see what the design team girls have been up to and have created using the colour Green.

First up is Solanage

Solanage has created a lovely layout for us. Hasn't she chosen a beautiful photo - I am guessing it is a photo of her Grandchildren or other family members having a special moment with some very cute puppies. There are so many different shades of green on Solange's layout and they all work together so well.
Here is what Solange has to say about her layout.

I've created a layout for this challenge using several tones of green watercolors on the background. I love this circle frame! I've applied green embossing powders on all of the chipboards.

I am glad Solonage loves our clock, this is a clock that my Son Josh designed for me when we first started Imaginarium Designs together many years ago! It gets used a lot as a frame. There is something about clocks that appeals to me. Josh designed this one with some lovely flourishes between the numbers.

You can see from the photo above, Solange has used a beautiful green shade of embossing powder to colour her clock. Her photo shows two very cute children and puppies having a lovely time.  Solange has chosen a range of paper and crochet flowers for her layout along with some hand cut print leaves and stems.

This photo shows some of the detail on Solange's background. She has used a range of green watercolour paints to achieve this look. It is very pretty and perfect for everything she has chosen to use on her layout. Solange has also use some of  our chipboard leaves. Nat designed these for us and again is another favourite of mine. Solange is a master at mixed media and has a real knack for layering and creating beautiful elements for her pages. Here she has clustered lots of different elements together to create two features for her page.

Solange has used a lighter green embossing powder on her leaves and stems.

Solange has added a second element on her layout. For this cluster, Solange has used some of our chipboard Alph's mixing up the upper and lower case letters and the word Love,  again embossed with green embossing powder. She has added a couple of paper embellishments along with  a couple of crochet flowers and more of her fussy cut leaves.
I really love Solange's work, she does a wide range of projects for us always using mixed media products on her work. I love the watercolour background she created for this page. I love the way embossing powder works on our chipboard and Solange has shown just how great it looks here by using two different green powders on her chipboard words.
Thank you Solange for sharing your beautiful layout with us.

Wendy has also been very busy. She has made four very elegant cards for us.
I love Wendy's choice of a white embossed background for her cards and single or double matting them in colours to match the elements she has used. It gives all her cards a elegant and classic look.
Here is what Wendy has to say about her cards.
This month I have gone with more of an olive tone for the colour theme. I have used various techniques from just straight inking to using distress glitter and then distress crackle paint which I love! I also decided that since I haven't used any embossing folders for over 12 months that I would pull these out and start creating! Hope you like!

So for Wendy's first card, she has used a couple of paper roses and a tag. She also has used one of our new Victorian flourishes.

Wendy has used crackle paint on her chipboard flourish. Don't you love the finish it gives to the chipboard. Crackle paint does take a while to dry but well worth the wait. Remember when using it, the more you paint on the thicker and deeper the cracks.
A beautiful card ready for a couples special day.

For Wendy's second card, she has used one of our chipboard flourishes.

Wendy has cut her flourish in half and used distress glitter on them. She has overlapped them and placed them under a die cut square with a stamped sentiment.

Doesn't the glitter chipboard flourish look amazing on the white embossed card.  Who would not like to receive this card on their birthday.

For this card, Wendy has used one of our chipboard doilies. There are four different doilies in a board and Wendy has chosen one and inked it with an olive green ink pad.

Our chipboard inks really well, and the ink gives the chipboard a lovely smooth finish. The Doily makes the perfect background for Wendy to glue her chosen embellishments on. If you need to ink your chipboard with lighter colours like pink,  yellow or pale blue, then use a Tim Holtz's Distress Oxides ink pad. They work the best on our chipboard and are juicy enough to cover the brown chipboard colour.

For her last card, Wendy has chosen to keep it simple. She chose to use a square of print paper as a base and a beautiful embossing folder for her white square then matted with olive card.
Wendy has used one of our new phrases especially designed for card makers. Each phrase comes on a board with four of each phrase. There are 6 different boards to chose from.

Again Wendy has inked her phrase - the perfect finishing touch for her card.
You see a lot of cards in magazines and on the internet. Most are over the top with so much on them there is no way you could post them unless they went in a small box. The must take hours to create and need to be given to someone who will really appreciate them. They are almost their own gift.
Whilst I love looking at them and admire the work involved, I don't have the time to create master pieces they them.
Wendy's cards are perfect for me. Hand made and elegant - the perfect combination and simple to make. You could spend a couple of hours and get quite a few made really for any occasion.
Using our inked chipboard phrases for your sentiments will add the perfect finishing touch.
Thank you Wendy for sharing your cards today. I am sure they will be a inspiration to many who want to make elegant cards like yours.

I have included the other phrases we have designed for card making
