White Backgrounds with a splash or two of colour.

A white background on a layout or card always looks so clean, it must be nice to do a layout like this.
You start with a white clean space, whether it's a layout, canvas or a card.
Then you add the colours you want.
I have always wanted to do this type of scrapbooking, but have never quite mastered it.

Today I am going to share some excellent examples of this style of scrapbooking by three of our design team who are masters at it.
First is Louise, she uses gesso to give her a white foundation.
Then she works her magic, a splash of colour, a small photo, embellishments, some of our chipboard, her own doodling and voila, another Louise Master piece.

Don't you love the splotches, I wish I had the freedom to do this, mine always looks like I have spilt the whole bottle! I am sure there is a nack to this.

I love the way she uses butterflies on her work, we need to do some more designs for her.

Next is Carole.
Again Carole has used a white background for her layout. I love the way she has added colour to her page. The strips of paper is so effective and I love the clear elements she has added to the paper. She has called her layout "La vie couleurs" or life in Colours.

The last project is a card from Gloria .... again the white foundation works so well even on a card, isn't the cutiest card you're seen, perfect for a little fellar.
Gloria is a master at cards, I love this one.
Gloria has included some techniques as well.
Techniques:
1. I wanted to show that Imaginarium Designs chipboard can be used for simple and cute projects. I cut several items apart to create this card. I cut the Title into two pieces, I trimmed the cars from the train, and I even trimmed down the train track!

IDS0021 Fence/Railway track

IDP0036 Wishing you Happiness

2. I used Copic alcohol markers to color the word art. I used Ranger Distress ink to color the train and track.

3. Once the ink was dry, I sprayed the train with Goosebumps Texture Spray. I allowed that to dry, then added the dots with Ranger Picket Fence Distress Marker.

Gloria is an expert at Copic markers, just look at all the shading she has done. I love the finish on the train, it looks amazing.
